20 Days Of…. Day 2 – Why I Decided To Start A Blog

Cramming In Strudel has been going for almost a year now, and at that time I was in a different position to now. As I explained in part 1, I’d had the life changing experience of a baby, and ended up being quite unwell afterwards. Mini druid was about 5 months old at the time, and we had no real routine so my days were chaos. Celin and I were still living apart so my WoW time was dictated by how much my parents were able to watch the baby in the evenings. I had managed to come back to raiding about 2 months before so all my time was log on >raid for 2 hours >log off and play Naora on nights off to gear her up. So I was kinda feeling frustrated, as someone who had been able to dip in and out of WoW whenever I wanted to.

I had been to visit Celin’s family and his brother was talking about how he wrote a D&D blog and moderated some forums. I had been reading WoW blogs as something to do when I was up at night with mini druid and thought it would be a good way for me to do something creative.

I know the focus has shifted from mage related things to more druid and alt and random stuff but I still enjoy writing as well as read all the other great blogs out there that continue to inspire me!

20 days of… WoW Blogging Challenge; Day 1 – More About Me

I decided to take up Saga’s challenge for a new 20 days of (since I missed the last one near xmas)

So a little more about me (than is in my About Me page)

I’m a 30 year old woman living in the south of England (where I have always lived for the most part), with my boyfriend who I met via WoW and our daughter, who is a WoW baby 🙂

In Wow, on my realm

I am mostly Naora, my 85 resto druid and before that I was Aya the arcane mage. Most people still call me Aya. My guild is Fallen Soldiers, where I have been for 2 and a half years (it’s been going since the beginning and still got a few of the original people, including the GM) I really love it there most of the time. We aren’t the most progressive guild but we get there eventually. We are also a 25 man guild which I love because it feels so very epic with 24 other people killing dragons with me. I have a bit of a reputuation for being a bit silly and starting stupid jokes but a decent healer. I also think I must be an encyclopedia of wow as I often get asked for info on things (helps when you have time to read up on wow a lot)

I’m addicted to belfs (male ones) because they are a race I would deem “attractive” (in so far as you can call a bunch of pixels attractive) I’ve had a thing for long haired, skinny men for a long time and they fit the bill lol. I have a second account for horde characters, which doesn’t have Cata on it at the moment. If I could be a high elf druid, I would be very happy!

I have a stable of alts, covering every class except warrior. I’m partial to nelfs (since I can’t have belfs), followed by draenei and worgens. I enjoy being self sufficient and not waiting around to find someone to craft something. I haven’t decided who my ‘second main’ will be, because every time I play a character, I want to stick with them! I’m leaning towards lock currently.

My realm is busy ally side, but I don’t have many friends outside the guild. The RL ones quit and the older ones either realm transfered or quit as well.

I like playing the auction house and making some gold on the side selling blues and epics for profit.

Outside Wow

My main role is set as parent currently! Mini druid is now 15 months old, out of the baby stage and firmly into the toddler one. I found parenting incredibly difficult to adjust to. I hadn’t expected to have a baby, let alone one formed from a long distance relationship that was only a few months old. I met Celin when he joined the our guild, as a RL friend of the person who recommended me as an applicant. We were still apart when I was pregnant and I was sick the entire time, culminating in high blood pressure and having the baby 5 and half weeks early. I took a long time to recover and still have some back problems which mean I don’t get out as much as I would like.

Before leaving my job, I was a financial analyst, although I have a fashion degree and retail background. I love clothes and wanted to be a stylist at one point.

I love reading; will read almost anything but very fond of manga, Jackie Collins, graphic novels, Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker and books about Japanese culture (especially clothing and Geisha)

My Archeology Grind – Electric Nerubian Boogaloo

It’s been a few weeks since my last archeology post because of the burnout after finally reaching 20 rares (which was on the 30th Jan, although it feels so much longer)

The clockwork gnome popped pretty soon after I swapped to EK to start my farming. A few more greys and I had the Innkeeper’s Daughter queued so I could so say I had 18/20 rares done. Ah!, I thought, won’t take me long to finish the nerubian, I mean there’s only 2 of them right? I should have learned my lesson from the time spent farming before. Nerubian are the Tolv’ir of Nothrend, with the majority of sites being vrykul, with a few nelf ones and troll. The commons are also creepy as anything; still beating hearts in a box? jewellery filled with live insects? bottles of blood?

The 2 rares are “fun” objects – I say “fun” because they are again on the slightly odd side of things. The Blessing Of The Old God turns you into a Qiraji battle tank, similar to the Bones Of Transformation from nelf solves.

Blessing of the old gold transformation rare

The Puzzle Box of Yogg Saron whispers you, similar to Cthun’s whispers, whenever you attempt to open the box. I like the puzzle box because Hellraiser was one of my favourite film series when I was younger, and it’s a slight homage to the Lament Configuration, the box that when solved summoned the Cenobites and opened the door to hell. It’s more obvious when you see the pop up for the rare, the intricate design work is similar of the Lament Configuration. The triangular spikes also remind me of the shape of  Leviathan, the leader of the Cenobites (it resembles a large diamond, with very sharp points) Obviously the main homage is to Lovecraft because of the old gods, but it’s a nice touch.

The Lament Configuration

The actual farming of the rares was quite boring, as I had completed the vrykul axe as an easy solve before. I was reluctant to set my hearthstone to Dalaran (I knew I’d forget to swap it back) so I was relying on my engineering wormhole every 4 hours to get me from one side to the other faster than a flight path. I believe I went 3 hours without a nerubian site one day. I know Tol’vir is supposed to be rarer but I don’t think I’ve had such bad luck with them. Overall, I farmed Northrend (with detours back to EK when I couldn’t take it anymore) for over a week. I had gone through all the commons but one (sceptre) before the old god amulet showed up and then perhaps 4-5 commons before the old god box. It doesn’t sound bad but then you consider each common was 45 frags and I would get maybe 1-2 sites per 4 hour session, it was a bit disheartening. I came away with 1100 vrykul fragments after I was finished, even after finishing up the last few commons I hadn’t done.

I felt pretty tired after the week of digging in Northrend but I was on my last rare so I burned through it and hit 20 rares at about 12.10 am on the 30th. I think there’s less than 10 people on my realm with the title; only seen 3 ally side including myself and the realm first guy.

Getting the Professor title!

After that I felt I simply didn’t want to touch archeology for a while. I had a bag and bank stuffed full of greys which I knew I could vendor in the next patch and whilst I wanted the other rares, I knew I had to give myself a break (raiding, raid prep, alts, alt levelling, RL – all too much)

Note: Not advisable to use the name changing rares in a raid situation that uses EPGP loot addon. You will realise that , although it’s fun to run back as a battle tank after a wipe, you aren’t getting any EP points and have to shamefully admit this to your raid leader and gm, who will take the piss out of you.

Patch Changes

The patch a few days ago bought some welcome changes to archeology.

  • The sell value of all common artifacts has been doubled, while a small subset of common artifacts have had their sell value increased far beyond that.

Definitely a change for the better and kind of soothes the pain of being capped at 200 frags from now on. I had thousands of fragments left so figured I would solve them and get the gold instead of sitting on them, worrying when Blizz would remove the excess or release new rares. I ended up with 3514g worth of items, from the following:

572g in greys stored since the increase in values discovered (mostly nerubian, vrykul and some troll)

1036g from nelf solves (including 3 scroll cases at 200g each and 2 chests of glass animals at 100g each)

1401g from fossil solves (including 6 Kraken tentacles at 200g each and 3 proto-drake skeletons at 20g each)

505g from vrykul solves (including 6 intricate treasure chest keys at 50g each)

  • Archaeology fragments now have a hard cap of 200 per race. Players will not be able to collect additional fragments until they complete artifacts to take them down below 200 fragments. Players with more than 200 fragments will not lose additional fragments in 4.0.6, but in a future patch we may remove any fragments above 200.

I don’t really mind this as I already had the rare BOA (Tyrande’s favourite doll) and therefore never even bothered hoarding frags to 525. With the sell cost up of the commons, it’s easier to just make them, vend, and move on.

  • Archaeology finds now grant a guaranteed skill point up to 50 skill, and then no longer grant skill gains, as opposed to granting up to 100 skill very slowly.

A good change for anyone planning on levelling from scratch. It was annoying to have the frags intermittently give skill from about 85 -ish (so much so I cracked around 91 and started solving, constantly being at an odd number for the entirety of my levelling)

  • Undocumented Change – Seven new Tol’Vir Dig Sites added to Uldum, two new Nerubian sites added to Eastern Plaguelands and two new Nerubian sites added to Northrend.

Hooray for more Tol’vir! I did get one yesterday when I was doing an hour or so of digging, Schnott’s Landing. I was unimpressed with the size of the site and because it’s so open (and Archy was broken) it took me a while to find all the frags. On the plus side, it’s empty of mobs after completing the quest chain there.

More nerubian sites. Well, guess it had to happen after I spent hours farming but it makes it easier for others and that’s good. I might be a bit resentful when I got back to EK to farm dwarf and troll.

  • Undocumented Change – You can now solve projects while mounted.

Useful but not game breakingly awesome. Saves time I suppose and someone must have complained about it to get it changed.

  • Undocumented Change – It is now possible to walk through unearthed archaeology finds.

Was kind of amusing to have one spawn on you and become stuck within it, but good to have it changed.

So what’s next?

I’m still wanting the Tol’vir bug mount (seen one on my server so far) and the other rares. They are really the next thing to grind due to the number of rares left to find (4), compared to the 1 of each dwarf and troll. Can I get all of the rares? I’d like to think so but we will see what the next content patches bring before I start dedicating such massive chunks my time again

My Archeology Grind; Or Destroying Your Soul, 1 Fossil Fragment At A Time

I’m a sucker for fun things in WoW. I’ve bought the sparkle pony, the moonkin, mini KT, the lot. I’ve spent time grinding Netherwing, Kureani, Sporregar for no other reason than mounts and vanity pets. Celin has bought me the path of Cenarius, party grenades, a hippogryph pet and more recently the Etheral Portal (fancy HS!) I thought archeology would be a nice thing to do when I had time, a relaxing way of getting non combat pets and items that I could do casually.

Replaces your hearthstone and looks cool

I don’t really know how I got so addicted to it. To being with I was using it as a way of levelling up when I couldn’t do quests (at 14k per find it wasn’t too bad) and when I hit 525 I had a few rares under my belt so I kept going. I knew that my time was still limited in the evenings, although we hadn’t started raiding, and spending hours in heroics really wasn’t an option, so I sort of became fixated on Tyrande’s Favourite Doll. It’s currently on a par with the first tier of raiding stuff so I figured if I can’t get gear through dungeons why not try for this trinket? How long could it take?, I foolishly thought.

It took me 2 weeks of farming Kalimdor (some time pre 525) in order to clear the 6 other rares (including 2 150 fragment ones) and I think maybe 3 of those were after 525. I finally got the trinket on 2nd January and it was my 110th nelf solve. I reckon I put in anywhere between 2-6 hours per day. As far as I know, I’m the only person in my guild with it, although some are farming it.

I actually screamed when it finally popped up

It really did become an obsession towards the end; I kept thinking “I can’t stop, one more solve and it could be the next” I know that I did get lucky in that it was only 110 solves.

There’s no denying it’s got an incredible amount of Intellect, and the fact it’s BOA makes my casters happy. I do forget to use it to restore the 4200 mana and you have to be careful you don’t break CC. It’s also confusing when you’re on T&V in Bastion as the AOE magic debuff that hurts shares the same animation and makes people panic (especially when standing in the tank group :P)

I’ll admit even I have some problems with the grindy nature. I’ve had many ‘discussions’ with people about how you aren’t forced to do archeology after they complained about the levels of some of the rares (mail head, cloth chest etc) I think Blizz made the right decision about them not scaling with level – we already have heirlooms. As far as I’m concerned those rares weren’t even that hard to get. It’s the ones with the incredibly low chance that are causing the problem. You invest time but there’s no guarantee you will get anything useful. As time goes on and the items become less powerful as we advance in gear, I think some of the bitterness people are displaying will go away. It’s that feeling of doing a secondary profession because you need the gear that makes people angry (and to a degree contradicts my point about how you aren’t forced into doing archeology)

Definitely creepy but good for confusing people

The other secondary professions had rare rewards (chef’s hat, recipes, turtle mount) but they weren’t as needed as the epic items are now. On top of that you were doing cooking/fishing to get something else primarily so they were a bonus, not the end result. I’m thinking that Blizz will have to make more changes, besides capping fragments. Perhaps they will up the rare chance once they aren’t useful in current content?

So what was next for me? I’d got lucky with the caster ring from Tolv’ir but no recipe from the canopic jar (2 opened so far) I decided Tol’vir was the way to go, but with a 10-12% spawn rate of digsites it is incredibly difficult. After a week of straight digging in Kalimdor, I had enough and went to both Northrend and Outland to bump up my rare count.

I love how you lose your name and become Honor Guard

I’m now 16/20, with 4 rares to go until Professor. I’ve seen the realm first guy with the title but no one else so it’s kinda exciting that I’m so close.

Rares I have found:

  • Tyrande’s Favourite Doll (BOA)
  • Ring Of The Boy Emperor (BOA)
  • Bones Of Transformation
  • Wisp Amulet
  • Scarab Storm Pendant
  • Bearded Nifflevar Axe (BOA)
  • Headdress Of The First Shaman (BOA)
  • Queen’s Azshara’s Dressing Gown (BOA)
  • Fossilized Raptor (Mount)
  • Relic Of Argus
  • Arrival Of The Naaru
  • Chalice Of The Mountain Kings
  • Kal’dorei Wind Chimes
  • Druid And Priest Statue
  • Highborne Soul Mirror
  • Fossilized Hatchling

The remaining 2 dwarf rares are a definite which leaves me with 2 more, probably the nerubian rares unless I get lucky with Zin’rokh/dwarf staff/tolv’ir something. I would love the bug mount but I just can’t farm tol’vir for a few days. I think it’s the prospect of more useless fragments – 1100 fossil and almost 1000 nelf ones just from Kalimdor alone.

Recommendations For Grinding Archeology

Get Archy. Apart from the excellent feature marking previous finds of each digsite on the mini map, the boxes that allow you to see how far you are through an item and solve it without going through the arch tab is a godsend. I mainly use it because of the distance counter, which shows me when I’m far enough away to be red, yellow etc

I also recommend Professor if you are going for Diggerest. It shows you how many commons you have left to discover for each race.

Stick to a continent if you are farming specific things:

Nelf  & Tol’vir – Kalimdor

Troll & Dwarf – EK

If you simply cannot take a continent anymore, move to another. I found it good to go solve some commons I didn’t have or try for the Outland and Northrend ones.

Fragments will never, ever be underwater, despite some maps covering a large body of a lake.

Fragments should not (after the hotfix) spawn outside the site area. If your telescope is pointing you outside, it’s actually trying to nudge you along one direction or another like so:

If it’s still pointing you outside, go do another nearby digsite and come back as it resets the digsite you were working on.

Remember that it’s RNG. There’s nothing you can do to make a rare item spawn. If it’s getting you down, take a break. The digsites aren’t going anywhere and you can always come back to it another day with a different mindset.

Good luck and pray the RNG favours you!

Surely must be uncomortable, even for ladies?

Breathing New Life Into Old Alts (Also Some Tips On The Alt Grind)

I’ve been half starting new posts for the last month, then scrapping them due to the sheer volume of stuff that’s been going on. Cata, christmas, sick family, general RL crap; all of it has somehow blocked my blogging time. It’s been really hard to know what to write about again with so many options.

I went into Cataclysm with some vaguely formed plan for levelling the alt army; roughly sorted by profession (gatherers, then important crafters, then the non gatherers). Of course Naora has to come first and needed additional time devoted to gearing through dungeons/rep grinds.

It took just over a week for me to level her on a semi casual basis, and hit 85 through Archaeology. Yep, I picked up a fossil and was 85. Not very epic. Then I begun the journey of relearning to heal in the most unforgiving content I have been through since I was a fresh noob at 70 (but that’s another post entirely)

Least epic ding ever?

So alts. Still got 9 to do : /

My wonderful gathering before anything plan fell apart as the alt I had chosen to level (Lucidique – Paladin miner) became stuck in Hyjal with Celin’s hunter as he became sick and then bored with WoW. Since I had made the decision to take my melee through Hyjal and the casters through Vashj’ir I decided to start playing my mage again.

Going back a few weeks, I actually race changed her from a human to a night elf. Nothing unusual there; done a faction/sex change before. I really did feel a difference in playing her, it was like a totally different character. I actually had fun playing a mage for the first time since I can’t remember when, frostbolting things into oblivion and confusing the crap out of people when they realise you aren’t a priest (similar gear I guess)

Aya after race change. Tier looks pretty nice actually

The strangest thing is I haven’t seen another max level nelf mage on my entire server*.

I’m assuming they will exist, if for nothing else than the achievement Classy Night Elves which you need for the 8th guild bank tab voucher. I wonder if the idea of nelf mages makes people uncomfortable, after all it seems the Burning Legion wouldn’t have noticed Azeroth so soon if the Highborne hadn’t been mucking about with the arcane magics (I’m not on a RP server so maybe mine don’t care about such things) However, I think it’s more likely that people waited for Cata and went worgen instead.

I can’t say I’ve seen many of the new race/class combos at max level that came with the shattering; I met one dwarf mage on the day it happened but not seen another one since. Seen a single undead hunter in Deepholm last week. Human hunters seem more popular (we can blame South Park for this) Troll druids are everywhere. Troll locks, not so much. Lots of Dwarf shamans but that’s probably down to the choice of one race for them before (same for Tauren pallies) Tauren priests don’t seem to be common. Same for belf warriors.  Seen maybe 2 or 3 gnome priests.

I suppose it’s really down to the following:

  • Worgens/goblins way popular
  • Cost of what is mostly a cosmetic change. Most people would probably not spend real money on a race change unless it was a main character or they really, really hated the race.
  • People had space and made alts of the new combos, who are sitting at some low level

Would I race change some of my alts if I could spend the real money without guilt? Probably. I’m not really a gnome person so I’ve toyed with the idea of making her a worgen (but lose the engineering racial bonus) I kind of like my priest and shaman how they are. No alternatives for my paladin. I’m determined to keep at least one of my alts male so no changing my death knight to a lady 😦

So I am in possession of an 85, an 84 with 15% to go, an 82, 4 80s, a 75 and a level 16 worgen. This is still a lot of alts to go, and the same set of zones for all of them.

Don't have any levelling shots so here's my rogue with a parachute

Here’s a few tips for overcoming the boredom of alt levelling through the Cata zones:

  • Decide what your alt is for. Is it for gathering, crafting professions, a second raid toon, a pvp toon? You might be able to skip zones if you’re not interested in the rep rewards (eg Ramkahen) or go to zones you never bothered with before (Tol Barad) If you particularly care about having a good supply of Whiptail you might want to skip Uldum as it phases one of the best spots for that herb out after one of the quest chains. If you are an alchemist or engineer or any gatherer/gatherer prof combo you might be able to leave the Twilight Highlands alone for a bit, as there’s no recipes there (except for cogwheels and they are only for the epic helm)
  • Make a plan on how far you want to get that alt in your alloted time. It can be a percentage of level, to clear a part of a zone or to finish a quest chain (a good example are the separate pillar fragment chains in Deepholm)
  • Gathering proffs as well as archeology can give xp as well so if you are sick of quests you can get a small boost and get some mats/useless junk/epics at the same time.  This is especially easy if you are playing at unsociable hours (such as early morning and the late morning to lunch period as well as weekdays – it’s not so busy then)
  • Try and do the easy fishing and cooking dailies in SW/Org. You don’t need any skill to do them and some take about 2 minutes. For alliance do the pancakes, cookies, crystal bass, catfish and walleye. Avoid the apples, crabs, rock lobster and any that take you out of SW.
  • Do something else at the same time; listen to music, watch some tv. Most quests don’t require any thought the first time around, let alone the third or fourth.
  • It might seem stupid but I’ve been using  old flasks and food to give me a small boost (Guru’s elixir is cheap and provides a straight stat bonus, the wrath flasks are abundant) Also any cheap enchants and profession enchants can help.
  • If you’re lucky enough to be in a good sized guild, you’ve probably hit level 10 and have access to the heirloom cloaks. It’s the only thing that will work up to 85 and you can add enchants (even profession ones, although they don’t work if send it on and the alt doesn’t have the right profession)

Lastly, just 2 points to remember. Think of the gold! Questing alone can get you about 10k if you do all the zones and vendor the un-needed quest rewards. Also, you are helping your guild (if you have one), everything you do counts – from quests to gathering, from crafting to maxing out a class for each race.

*I saw one in Alterac Valley back when I was trying to get the gnome costume kill thing for Merrymaker

Archeology Rewards

Apart from the fun items there’s a few nice bits. However you will need to be close to max before getting a chance for these to pop up for creation. You can reforge archeology items (like I have done with the ring)

[E] Staff Of Ammunae – Level 85 BOA staff with spirit. Requires 150 Tol’Vir archeology fragments (approx 17 dig sites)

[E] Staff Of Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan – Level 85 BOA staff without spirit. Requires 150 Dwavern archeology fragments

[E] Tyrande’s Favourite Doll – Level 85 BOA trinket with a massive chunk of int, a mana store/release and added small aoe. Requires 150 Night Elf fragments.

[E] Ring Of The Boy Emperor – Level 85 BOA ring, decent stats for any healer/caster. One of the more “common” rares. Requires 150 Tol’vir fragments.

BOEs

[R] Tarvus’s Poison-Scarred Boots

[R] Blazewing’s Furious Kilt Drops specifically from Blazewing, an 81 rare

[R] Brittany’s Ceremonial Spaulders

*New* Epic BOEs – Raids

If you are lucky enough to have a good guild then you may get some of these early on in your trash killing in BOT or BWD. Alternately you might get them on trash farming runs, buy them off other players in the raid or from the auction house. The prices I’m listing are what they are going for on my realm (ally side)

[E] Hide of Chromaggus – One of two shoulders (excluding tier 11) that you can obtain from BWD. The other being BOP Passive Resistor Shoulders from Omnitron Council (which is better for us due to the amount of haste) Going for about 35-40k gold on the AH.

[E] Chelley’s Staff of Dark Mending – 2 handed staff from BOT trash, expect to fight your other casters and healers for this bad boy. Going for anywhere up to 55k on the AH.

*New* Epic BOEs – World Drops

[E] Dorian’s Lost Necklace -Haste/mastery neck piece. The one from Wildhammer/Dragonwmaw rep is similar except it has crit instead or haste. Goes for about 20k on the AH.

[E] Heartbound Tome – Offhand with spirit and mastery. Goes for around 30k on the AH.

[E] Signet of High Arcanist Savor – Ring with hit and crit, so not the best stats for healing. Sold one myself few months ago for 20k and it has stayed around that price.

[E] Ritssyn’s Ruminous Drape – Cloak with haste, mastery and a yellow slot. Sells for around 20k on the AH

Baradin’s Wardens (Alliance)/ Hellscream’s Reach (Horde) – Tol Barad

[E] Mandala Of Stirring Patterns (A) / (H) – Trinket with spirit and mastery intellect (!) proc. Requires Exalted.

[R] Shimmering Morningstar (A)/ (H) – 1h mace. Requires Revered.

[R] Insidious Staff (A)/ (H) – 2h staff. Requires Revered.

Nothing worth getting from guild rewards, apart from the cauldrons and feasts for groups/raids.

Updates to Part 1:

[Tattooed Eyeball] is now a rare item,  stats apparently nerfed as well

Power Torrent seems to be the enchant that everyone is recommending over Heartsong. However it costs a lot.

A lot of the lower dungeon stuff has been upgraded but not sure if  wowhead reflects this yet.

Gearing For 85; Shinies For Resto Druids, Part 1 *Revised Feb 2011*

*Revised Feb 2011 from my own experiences and to change some stuff that’s been updated since Cata came out*

  • Removed cloth as it’s not really worth breaking the bonus
  • Added Valor points gear (since it’s possible you might have some from dungeons etc)
  • In the Gurgthock’s vs Very Manly Staff debate, it depends how long you are going to keep that item for. I think MH plus OH is superior if you are going to enchant them and have a decent OH but if you are hitting high level dungeons and heroics straight away, you’ll replace all of them pretty quickly.

I’ve made this list as much for myself as for the others out there. When WOTLK hit, my mage was in a mess of Tier and craftables so the majority was replaced easily by quest rewards along the way. This time, Naora is in full T10 plus some heroic ICC 10 stuff and badge gear. I feel quite overwhelmed with starting again in gearing so I’ve made this post to help guide choices in questing, justice points and rep grinds to ensure  getting the best possible start to heroics, then raiding at 85.

Trinkets

Relics

[U] Cannon Stabilizer (Uld)

[U] Spearwarden’s “Lucky” Charm (TH, identical for both H and A)

Crafting

Alchemy

[E] Lifebound Alchemist Stone – Trinket. Finally we get epic alchemy stones again!

[E] Vibrant Alchemist Stone – Trinket. An excellent starter trinket replacing the previous stam/mastery generic stone

[E] Lightning Lash – belt

[E] Stormleather Sash – more of a dps belt, no spirit and crit/mastery

Tailoring

Nothing worth taking from tailoring.

Engineering

[E] Camouflage Bio-Optic Killshades – 1 meta slot plus the engineering gem slots. Engineers only however.

Blacksmithing

[R] Elementium Hammer – One handed mace

[R] Elementium Spellblade – Dagger. Has hit.

The only problem I can forsee with craftables is that the Chaos Orbs used to craft them (Cata’s Frozen Orbs) are BOP.  There’s not much chance of getting my alts through heroics for a while yet! Hoping they make they BOE or buyable with justice points (still waiting on this Blizz :P)

Ramaken seems to be the faction least worth getting rep with for gear. They do sell the nice camels though 🙂 I will probably go for Therazane for the shoulder enchants and Wildhammer for that epic belt.
